Prosecution ‘no’ to Aslam as approver

Special Prosecutor in the Marad murder cases has informed the court that the prosecution is not interested in considering Aslam, the 70th accused in the case, as an approver.

Special Prosecutor P K Haridas informed the Special Judge Babu Mathew P. Joseph the other day that the prosecution does not want Aslam as an approver.

Aslam himself had expressed the desire to be an approver in the open court. He was admitted to the hospital following chest pain and was absent in the court for one day. He revealed his intention to Judge when he was brought to the court after treatment.

The Judge then asked the prosecution to inform its stand on the request.

Meanwhile, the Government has appointed Adv P D Ravi as Special Prosecutor in the Marad cases. He will assist P K Haridas in prosecution.
