T'PURAM: Local Self Government Minister Paloli Mohammedkutty has
denied his statement against the judiciary. There were reports that
during a speech in Kozhikode last week, Paloli had said that the
verdicts in several cases had been declared by judges after weighing
the wealth of the clients.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Paloli said that he had never made
such remarks during that speech. ''I spoke about the difficulty faced
by the poor in our country in legal battles. The rich bring in reputed
lawyers by paying hefty sums, whereas the poor can't afford the
luxury,'' said Paloli.
He alleged that a section in the media had misquoted his statement.
