It was a
day of joy and celebration for nearly 2,000 Tamil families residing in
the city. Rallying behind the Tamil Sangham, they celebrated the 48th
anniversary of the sangham in a befitting manner. Zamorin P K S Raja
inaugurated the celebrations at the Corporation Jubilee hall which was
attended by veteran Tamil film director K Bharathi Raja. Established in
1959, the Tamil Sangham aims to provide a meeting place for Tamilians
residing across Malabar. The sangham has 600 permanent members.
Majority of them are engaged in business related to finance and textile
sectors.
