A national technical symposium, `Digital Dreams - 2007,' was conducted recently by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Kalasalingam University, Virudhunagar. Inaugurating the symposium, Viswanathan Raju of Honeywell Technology Solution Limited, Madurai, said that students should keep pace with the rapid developments in technology and constantly keep upgrading themselves. The 27th annual conference of South Indian History Congress was conducted recently in Virudhunagar, in which about 600 delegates from various States took part. P. Jegadeesan, Member, State Planning Commission, K.K.N. Kurup, former Vice-Chancellor, Calicut University and K. Rajayyan, former Vice-Chancellor, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchi, also spoke.

Ranga Reddy, Professor, Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati while delivering a special lecture on Women empowerment at M.V.M. Arts College for Women in Dindigul recently. The college had also organised a seminar on feminism recently. Former Vice-Chancellor of Gandhigram Rural University G Pankajam delivered the keynote address. The fine arts club meeting of the college was also held recently. Dindigul MP N.S.V. Chitthan distributed prizes to winners of various competitions.
