KOZHIKODE: Beypore police on Friday seized two kilograms of opium and Rs 1.6 lakh from a person staying at the Cheruvannur Community Hall.
The narcotic, kept in several packets, was seized from P Majeed, 49, son of Muhammedkutty, who is now residing at the community hall, where some families staying near Njeliyanparamba dumping yard are rehabilitated.
Police raided the community hall at around 8 am following a tip off, it is learnt.
