Bomb scare on Nethravathi Express in Kerala

KOZHIKODE: An anonymous call claiming that bombs have been planted in the Kurla-Thiruvananthapuram 'Nethravathi' Express proved hoax following a thorough search of the train after it reached Kozhikode on Thursday morning, police said.

The call was received at the Police Control Room around 9 am and the train was subjected to a search by bomb and dog squads as soon as it reached the railway station, the sources said.

However, the call turned out to be hoax after combing operations yielded nothing and the train then proceeded towards Thiruvananthapuram with police security, they said.

Meanwhile, police traced the call to a public telephone booth near the beach.
