Nokia Ragam 07

KOZHIKODE: The `Nokia Ragam 07,' a four-day inter-collegiate fest, organised by the National Institute of Technology, Calicut (NIT-C) is to begin on Wednesday.



V.A. Parthasarathy, Director, Indian Institute of Spices Research (IISR), Chalavoor near here will be inaugurating the event on the campus at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday. NIT-C Director G.R.C. Reddy will preside. NIT-C Dean (Students) Paul Joseph, staff adviser K. Saseendran, cultural secretary (Arts) Manu A. and students' council general secretary Deepak Jose will speak on the occasion.



The theme for this year's Ragam is `Games of Chance.' The Hindu is the media partner.



This year, playback singer Shaan will be performing on the campus.



A rock show by `Evergreen,' Kerala's own rock band is another much-awaited performance. Evergreen was the first band from the State to be selected for the `Independence Rock Competition.'



The festival will have more than 70 events. Prizes worth Rs.1.75 lakh await the winners.



For the next four days literary, dramatic, fine arts and speaking events are set to rock the NIT-C campus. A total of 75 colleges participated in Ragam 06.
