`Colloid 07' a big draw

KOZHIKODE: The National level technical festival `Colloid 07' conducted by Chemical Engineering Department of the Government Engineering College (GEC) at West Hill have been attracting crowds.



A lecture by K.E.George of Department of Polymer Science and Rubber Technology, CUSAT and face-to-face programme involving alumni were held on Friday.



General quiz

The attraction of the day was the general quiz conducted by quiz master K.P. Sunil.



Sarin P and Nirmal Joy of Government Medical College, Kozhikode won the first prize, while Vishwas Vishwam and Haisam Muhamed of St.Joseph's College, Devagiri bagged the second prize.



The third prize went to Hemant Premkumar and Kiran Radhakrishnan of NSS Engineering College, Palakkad.



The two teams from Government Engineering College, Kozhikode won the first two prizes in Trouble shooting contest. Jayesh Kumar and Aneesh K.S. from the College won the first prize, while Ashlesh M and Heera Vishwanath of the same College won the second prize.



ANERT stall

ANERT, Centre for Water Resources Development and Management (CWRDM), Regional Science Centre and Planetarium, Factories and Boilers, Clean Kerala Mission, CSRD, Kerala Sasthra Sahitya Parishad, Kudumbashree, Subiksha and Habitat have put up stalls at the exhibition.



Four-stage programme

`Colloid 07' with the motto `Innovation Towards A Green World' is conceived as a four stage programme aimed at expanding the creative thinking of students and also to provide an ideal opportunity for the public to visualise and understand the recent trends in energy, environmental conservation and chemical engineering.



The College, established in the academic year 1999-2000, has been conducting `Colloid' from 2005.
