Ethics of nature conservation

KOZHIKODE: The Research and Post-graduate Department of Zoology of Malabar Christian College here will organise a seminar on `Environmental ethics: Issues and possible solutions' on Thursday.



The objectives of the University Grants Commission - sponsored seminar is to enable individuals to develop knowledge and attitude to make intelligent decisions, promoting desirable environmental habits, and developing community cooperation in environmental protection and conservation.



Mayor M. Bhaskaran will inaugurate the programme. Prof. M.K. Prasad, former Pro Vice-Chancellor, Calicut University, will deliver the keynote address.



O. Jayarajan, Deputy Conservator of Forests, will speak on `Development versus environment ethics.'



Dr. Sajeev, scientist, Kerala Forest Research Institute, will chair the session on `Stripping life: Mode, measure, guilt, and post script.'



Dr. Pramod, Nature Education Officer, SACON, Coimbatore, will speak on `Environmental education and ethics.'
