T’PURAM: Sasikumar, 46, a constable attached to the Vanchiyoor Police Station in the city, died at a Rapid Action Force training camp at Malappuram on Thursday.
He had shown physical discomfort during PT and the police doctor had asked him to take rest. However, Sasikumar collapsed and was rushed to the district hospital, where he breathed his last.
The cause of death is yet to be ascertained, police said. The body is now kept at the Kozhikode Medical College mortuary.
Sasikumar, who lives at Viswas Bhavan, Balaramapuram, is survived by wife and two children. He had gone to Malappuram to attend the camp on February 5. The camp started the next day.
It is expected that the body would be brought home on Friday.
