Kozhikode: The Kunnamangalam Judicial First Class Magistrate's Court here on Tuesday extended the remand period of the suspected al-Badr terrorist Fahad till February 20.
The Karnataka police arrested the Karachi-born Pakistani national Fahad along with another terrorist Mohammed Ali Hussein in Mysore in last October for plotting to attack the Karnataka Assembly building in Bangalore and the Central Institute of Indian Languages in Mysore.
During the investigations in last year, the Karnataka police had found that the Pakistani youth had maintained close links with the relatives of his Malayalee father in Kozhikode.
Fahad, a chemical engineer, is the seventh son of Abdulla Koya, a Malayalee, who migrated to Karachi in Pakistan several decades ago.
