KOZHIKODE: The return of Sourav Ganguly has helped the Indian team immensely, according to S. Sreesanth.
"He has brought to the team a lot of experience," said the Indian seamer here on Friday. "He is very experienced as a captain too, and he encourages bowlers a lot."
Souvenir
Sreesanth was in the city to release a souvenir brought out by the Kerala Veterans Cricket Association, ahead of the India-Pakistan veterans one-day match at the Corporation Stadium here on Sunday. He said the Indian team was feeling confident going into next month's World Cup. "There we would be playing on flat tracks, which aren't very different from the ones in India," he said. "I feel it's going to be an open World Cup, even if Australia hadn't lost its last few games."
Sreesanth said the team drew a lot of inspiration from India's triumph in the 1983 World Cup. "Even last night, I was watching the video clips of that tournament. It felt great, yet again."
And he would, of course, dance, if India triumphed in the Caribbean.
