KALPETTA: The annual holy feast of Lourde Matha Church, Pallikkunnu, a popular pilgrim centre near here, began on Saturday.
Rev Joseph Kalathiparambil, Bishop of Kozhikode diocese, will lead the holy mass on Sunday.
Thousands of believers received the nercha at the church on Saturday night. As many as 200 committees are working round the clock to ensure the smooth conduct of the festival.
KSRTC and private buses are operating special services to transport the pilgrims. The festival will conclude on February 18.
In connection with the centenary celebrations of the church, this year, the parish is planning year long programmes.
According to organisers, the parish will construct 10 houses for the poor this year.
