KOZHIKODE: The Roads and Bridges Development Corporation of Kerala Ltd will charge users' fee at rail over-bridges at Vengalam, Vengali, Chengottukavu, Meenchanda in Kozhikode district, Muchickal bridge on Tirur-Tanur road in Malappuram district and at Kalettunkara, Chalakudi and Chembisseri bridges in Thrissur from March 1.
The corporation said that it had to go for users' fee in order to repay the loan from HUDCO. Two-wheelers and autorickshaws need not pay the fee. For monthly passes, fees are Rs 150 for cars, Rs 450 for buses and lorries and Rs 240 for other light vehicles.
Users fee rates: For car, jeep and pick up van: Rs 5 for single trip, Rs.7.50 for return trip and Rs 15 for multiple trips.
Light commercial vehicles: Rs 8 for single trip and Rs 12 and 24 for return and multiple trip respectively. Bus, truck, tanker and other heavy vehicles will have to pay Rs 15, Rs 22.50 and Rs 45 single, return and multiple trips respectively.
