Organized by
Department of Mechanical Engineering
NIT Calicut
Sponsored by
TEQIP, NIT Calicut; IEEE; KRL, Kochi;
Systems Society of India, NIT Calicut
Arranged by
ENCON Club, NIT Calicut
Workshop Theme
The growth of every country’s economy is largely dependent on adequate supply of useable energy. The area of energy research covers the conventional fuel technology, energy transformation and transmission, renewable and alternative energies, economics and environment. The entire world is struggling with the problems ofacute shortage of readily available energy, which is so vital for alldevelopmental activities. Efficient and economical means may be derived to identify and to develop new energy technology, and to exploit energy, which have minimum environmental impacts.
The present workshop aims at:
1. New trends in energy conversion and conservation techniques
2. Extending information on renewable energy technology
3. Environmental impacts of energy usage
4. Promoting sustainable energy development
Workshop Topics
(i) Present Energy Scenario
(ii) Energy Policy and Pricing
(iii) Energy Economy
(iv) Energy and Environment
(v) Advances in Energy Research
