KOZHIKODE: Hardly anyone among the Gen-next knows the contributions of Kozhikode in the development of art and culture in the state.
Here is a golden opportunity to know the personalities, who played a key role in taking Kozhikode to the mainstream of cultural Kerala.
The painting exhibition Kozhikodan Koottaymakku Sradhanjali which began on Friday at Lalithakala Akademi Art Gallery, will take every art lovers down the memory lane.
The seven-day painting exhibition will feature the paintings of M V Devan, Madanan, Paul Kallanode and many other artists.
In connection with the exhibition, meets in memory of G Aravindan, Pattathuvila Karunakaran, Puthukudi Balakrishnan, B M Gafoor, N P Muhammed and Thikkodiyan also will be organised.
One may not forget the room owned by G Aravindan at Paragon Lodge, which was a favourite hangout for state’s renowned artists, novelists, politicians and social workers.
The golden period may not be revived, but the exhibition will keep these memories alive.
The programme, organised by Painters Club, was inaugurated by M V Devan, who later presented the Kodenkandathu International Art Foundation Award to Jespher, a budding painter from Malappuram.
