KOZHIKODE: The PM Foundation, which has been extending financial support to talented students from minority communities since 1989, launched two new projects – interest-free education loan and PM Fellowship on Sunday.
The education loan or the PM scholarship scheme, for which an amount of Rs 5 crore has been earmarked, will help students from poor backgrounds to continue with their studies at degree and post-graduate levels, Dr P Muhammedali, the founder of the Foundation told reporters. The students will have the right to choose their course and to proceed with their studies anywhere in the country.
Meanwhile, the PM Fellowship intends to give creative support to students who have passed the plus-two course. The Foundation will conduct a competitive examination for plus-two students which would be followed by a three-day training for selected students. A list of 10 students will be prepared after the training, who will be awarded an annual scholarship of Rs 20,000 for five years.
